My go-to comfort food recipe: Asian sautéed tempeh with broccoli on a bed of quinoa or brown rice. Delicious, quick and healing!


  • Good quality organic coconut oil

  • I small or 1/2 an onion (optional)

  • 1/2 package of tempeh sliced lengthwise then cut into bite size pieces (found in the freezer section of most supermarkets)

  • 1/2 broccoli cut up

  • 4 - 5 garlic buds (half sliced, half finely chopped)

A soothing and earthy combination of three classic culinary spices—cumin, coriander, and fennel — this herbal tea, which has a long history of use in Ayurveda, aids in the absorption of nutrients, stimulates the lymphatic system, and is beneficial for the digestive system in reducing gas and bloating.

According to my mom, who can be quite discerning, this is the best potato salad she’s ever had (and trust me, she is not saying this because I’m her daughter!)

The most crucial part of this potato salad is the fresh herbs. During the growing season there is such a bounty of fresh herbs. Don’t be afraid to experiment with all sorts, even those you‘ve not tried or heard of before. You simply can’t go wrong!
